The Princess of Mount Ledang

If the camera would juz pan slightly to the right, I bet you could see my NS Camp at the bottom of Mount Ledang. Hahahaha~

Well, I juz watched the movie today and surprisingly, I find it to be pleasantly surprising, that the Malaysian movie did quite a good job making a great show. Yup~ I actually enjoyed it. Hah!

Okay. The Princess Of Mount Ledang, or famously known as Puteri Gunung Ledang is about a tale of love and loyalty to the country. The story begins in Majapahit where the Princess and Hang Tuah fell in love while the Sultan of Malacca was visiting Majapahit. Before departing, the princess made a promise - if Hang Tuah didn't come for her, she'll go to him instead when the time comes. From there on, the story comes to live with historically incorrect plots, but it doesn't matter. Contra to what my bro commented on the movie, the show had cool (and sometimes corny) fighting scenes. Since the director took most of the plot from Hikayat Hang Tuah instead of Sejarah Melayu, there's alot of flying and explosive powers (corny) in the fighting scene but it's all done nicely. Well.. Most of it. Actually there's only 3 fighting scenes. The rest of the show is a slow paced love story that ends up potraying Sultan Mahmud as a constipated dude lashing out at everyone for his inability to shit properly.

Overall, it's a good show. For more info, please read your history books or you can call your history teacher up and throw a bunch of questions at him concerning the Hikayat and the Sejarah Melayu. Hehehe~ Aaron and Joanne's reviews are quite interesting too - contradicting each other.
