| exams and flaming rats

You didn't actually think that I was gonna show ya a flaming rat was I? Tsk tsk tsk~ How naive young people are these days. First off..

CONGRATS TO FINALLY FINISHING SOME FRIEDCHIKEN EXAM~!!

Secondly. As previously mentioned in the previous post written previously on some privy day, here are some more things one should partake and/or consume before leaving Melaka. Observe;

homemade roast pork (sau row)

yee kiaw (fish slices) crispy prawn noodles

Available from morning to noon only, this little yee kiaw crispy prawn noodles thingy has been my staple meal for the past one week. If you like crispy prawn in your prawn noodles, you MUST try SOME of this GOOD FOOD®. Speaking of eating this delish SGF®, allow me to rant on the parking capabilities of the owner of this vehicle. Observe;

Yes, it is parked. Yes, it is parked by a snobbish looking middle-aged woman. Yes, we arrived after her and left before her as she was taking her unbelievably sweet time eating so much so that by the time my dad and I were done, she haven't even touched her coffee yet. Seeing how such a being can be soooooooo uneducated, illiterate and just plain ignorant and inconsiderate really *irri's me a lot~

awesome parking skillz

Makes me feel like trapping it like a rodent and torching it. Speaking of which last Saturday, mom complained that she saw a rat in the store room and asked me to set up the trap. I did. Following morning the rat was neatly trapped in it. It was cute. Observe;

what's that? a cutie-looky thingy?

it IS cute and adorableeeee~ eek eek eek~

What happened next, IMAO, was the better method than the ones suggested, i.e carbon-monoxide poisoning (thanx j.leong), and boiling hot water (everyone else). For me? I choose to be different. I choose to take a step further because, if it's worth doing, it's worth over-doing. Observe;

BLAST YOU GOOGLE CENSORSHIP!!

Fast track to Thursday....

Was rather fruitful too. Helped beloved CF'er shift her stuff to her new home and for a pint-size gurl, she has a whole load of things. Not to mentioned she was previously residing in an apartment. Observe;

see all that? yeap~ that's hers

To celebrate (almost everyone's) final paper for the semester and also to give a simple farewell to those who were leaving, half of the CF people went out for a simple makan and movie. Where in the world can fit so many hungry rowdy people??? Observe;

amigos.. where the food is more expensive but not as nice as wok and pan

*with cute voice* tertypoop~

After a not so satisfying meal (my cheesy-baked rice was far from cheesy), we headed to GSC at DP (and no, GSC and DP are not the acronyms for... nevermind) to catch an old nonsensical, plot-riddled, time-traveling pitch about fate; Terminator Salvation. Observe;

once again, immaterial things prevail against ana-chan~

Yes to my viewers outside of Malaysia, Ana-chan is at a legal age of consent. *koff* Back to good ol' Termie.

If ya take the movie for what it is; a simple, action-packed, pop-corn cruncher, it does its job well. Sure there are cheesy lines here and there but hell, it's much better than time-traveling. However, there's but one regret from the movie. Nearly at the last scene when..

SPOILER ALERT!!

A CGI Arnie, which is much like the CGI Rock from mummy, appeared. The camera spanned slowly starting from his bare-nekkid legs and moving up slowly... and at that moment, I was blinded by a disfiguring bright white light...

A sensation of peace lingered...

Emotions never felt before overwhelmed me...

Arnie has no ding-dongs...

Instead, it was replaced by the machines with something equally brutal and bloody...

Observe... at your own risk.

MAIII AYEESSSSS~!!!

Blinded yet? Heh~

Will miss all ye who'art leaving. :) Nitezz~

| wuuuuuuu-aii soww seereeuuss~?

Before I go all psycho..

glad to see ya once again, my dear friend

I hope you had fun while being in boring ol' Melaka. Thanks for coming down to see me and stuff. Really miss those good old days back then; things were much simpler than they are now. Take care my dear friend. Looking forward to see ya in the future.

So.. with that said and done, let me ask you now..

I stayed around Bear Hill from 10pm till 12am to catch the midnight show at 12.45am and watched The Dark Knight with a group of CF'ers and I must say, this has really really got to be the BEST movie to see for 2008. It is so good, it totally pwnts Transformers all hands-down. It's THAT good.

Christian Bale reprices his role as Badman Batman and does it very well too. That deep dark intimidating voice is always catchy. But what really caught the limelight and our attention was the late-Heath Ledger's role as the Joker.

This movie is great because of it's excellent plot twist, simple static-sound suspense music and of course, the action's great. The whole psychology of the show is also quite messed up. In a good way... or bad, depending on how you view it. It's quite disturbing to see the Joker laughing away despite being pounded in the face by Batman. Cracking laughter and quirky remarks while holding his blade to the victim's mouth asking, "Why so serious?".

This movie rawks. Best well-spent RM10 on a movie ever. Go watch eeett~

wuuuuuuuuuuuuai so serious?

Nite peeps.

Yea. So I've finally watched Ironman. Like Transformers, it was quite worth the anticipation; unlike the crumbleandburninhell X-Men 3 and Spiderman 3 in which both of them suck - BIG time.

it is ironman therefore it is epic

Like other comic-to-movie adaptation, the storyline has been changed a little here and there to fit the modern times and reasonably 2 hour frame. At least it follows as close as it could to the original one which is a major plus point for me.

Here are a few interesting things about the movie that ya'll may or may not know:
~ S.H.I.E.L.D.'s most probably heading towards the Ultimates branch of the Avenger.

~ James R. Rhodes, Tony Stark's best friend in the movie turns to the ironman armour and says, "Next time, baby~" hints his appearance as War Machine.

~ Nick Fury in the movie is based on Ultimate Nick Fury which is drawn to look like Samuel L Jackson.

Enough of all these comic stuffies already. Btw, Marvel vs DC be epic, kthnxbai~

| transformers!!

No, I have not watch it yet. Initially I was hoping to catch it this Saturday but now, with the added tasks, I guess not. More on that later.

Tuesday CF was fun, fun, and double fun! Though I wasn't not directly participating in it, it was fun to watch ya'll suffer laughing away cheerfully. Me was supposed to be planning for it but due to some dumb lecturer, my class was changed to 7-10pm. Yea it's dumb, I know.

is that the transfiguration of- oh wait, it's just them

But alas, my precious, very giler precious granddaughter whose heart is as pure as ivory helped take over the planning and I must admit it, she did a great job, way better than I imagined. For that, she got her Lays, Cheddar Cheese potato chips as a reward. heh~

thanx deb~ *muakz~*

Anyway, as I earlier said, now I can't catch Transformers on Saturday because pastor gave the guys extra work that night and thus, no free time to watch that awesome show. Oh well, service comes first - that's one of my principles. Worship Team Outreach (WTO) KL is gonna be fun indeed.

Nite peeps~

profound... *stares*

p.s. somebody please invite me watch transformers~~ *sob* *sob*

| priority punker

*looks at title*

Nothing really makes sense these days eh?

It's either I've been super slacking or I've been really busy which result in me not blogging consistently. Pick one, anyone. The latter, the best.

thieves find it hard but it-a piece o' cake

I've done some minor modding on my wife. Floyd rose guitar are a tricky little thing and is one heckuva hassle to restring or tune. Since I don't really use the tremolo THAT often, might as well just lock up the whole floating bridge. After checking various people applying the same technique, I saw up some plywood and slot them in like a butter to the knife.. I think.

gotta love getting ya hands dirty

In doing so I have just locked the bridge so that it won't stretch or slack thus turning it into a normal bridge, increase the sustain due to the resonance in the wood, either that, or I've just messed up my guitar really, REALLY badly.

serving over self

Some of you may have already heard of my almost-came-to-pass plan for this coming Wednesday. One fine day, bro was being extra (suspiciously) nice to me and invited me to watch the PREMIERE of Transformers in KL, IMAX. IMAX!! Without much thought I immediately said yes (it's the premiere! what can I say?) only to find out (or to remember) that I have other obligations on that night; I have practice for WTO KL.

So the thought of me having a short, one-day holiday up to KL to celebrate my bro's 22nd birthday and at the same time, catch the premiere of an anticipated block buster, was flushed down the drain. In my mind, I picture myself going there, taking a bunch of pictures of me in IMAX and posting it up that night itself saying, "HA! I watched the premiere, baby!!"... *sigh* Debbie's laughing at me again.

*ahem*... "HA! I watched the premiere, baby!!"

If you weren't there to enjoy it, there's always something called photoshop or as I called it, advanced daydreaming.

heh~

Nite peeps~

| ain't that epic.. at all.. *sigh*

I'm a man and men in general - as in, really general don't real experts in cooking. Good ol' traditional men would leave their slaves wives to do the cooking, cleaning and washing for them while they go to work, come back with cash, and sit in front of the tv with a beer and the remote in hand.

i can say that i'm 'safely' in the middle

it has been in my fridge for more than a year.. heh~

Though many people would disagree that deep-fried is a form of cooking, I guess everyone has their own opinion. To me, as long as I get my belly full, it's cookin'. Watching shows on Travel & Living helps a big bunch and though I ain't no pro in cooking, I know I'll never starve to death.. I hope.

cantata'ism feeling

Went to MP after church on Sunday to catch a movie with Rebecca, Kay Lyn and Shin Dee. It was quite spontaneous actually. Didn't plan for it at all. Why? Because they said they were gonna watch a show that was on my Top 10 To Watch list. And why is it on my Top 10 list? Because it's a spoof and spoofs are always on my Top 10 list. heh~.

Shin Dee's a kiut girl.. still single.. while stocks last

While waiting for the girls to come I went to check out my dad at Starbucks. Got myself a sweet Venti Iced 4 Shots Espresso 3 Pumps Vanilla Latte. A long order for the one who luuurves his coffee. Gotta admit, 3 pumps of Vanilla syrups not enough to balance the 4 shots of espresso. Will go for 5 or 6 pumps next time. Kay.. I'll stop talking about coffee..

the-unfortunately-not-that-funny-show

Yea, we went watch Epic Movie. It's a show that parodies all the more 'serious' movies like Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest, The Harry Potter film series, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, X-Men: The Last Stand, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Nacho Libre, Snakes On A Plane, Mission Impossible 3, Superman Returns the Star wars series, and Borat.

speaks a lot doesn't it? hehehe~

By the names of the movies they're parodying, one would assume that it'll be a funny show, riiiight? Well, it's funny. Just not that funny. Actually it's very disappointing. I had really high hopes for this show as it's the same dudes who made Scary Movie, and Scary Movie is hella funny. Epic Movie just doesn't cut it - not even a bit. If Scary Movie is 8/10 of the funny meter, Epic Movie is like, 1.5/10. Yea~ It's that bad and disappointing.

Thank goodness I watched it with fun people. After all, it's not what you do, it's who you do it with. Remember that well peeps~ Nite!

| horror movies?

Hi everybody. Meet Benjamin Loh. You can call him Ben whenever you see him. Born in '86, has a cute girlfriend and stays with her in a rented house in Bukit Beruang. Recently finished his Diploma in Information Technology and now currently majoring in Security Technology. I mentioned him and his awesomely big master bedroom that he pays RM400+ every month before on my blog but I can't seem to find the url... never mind.

i've never seen a guy..

Just a couple of days ago my course-mates and I met up to discus our assignments and other matters. Ben, seeing that we had a lot of free time till our next lecture starts, played a movie for us to watch. It's a famous movie that many people have seen and come like and at the same time, fear. I'm talking about The Grudge 2, its Japanese name, Ju-On which translates as a grudge so the title makes sense. Yea.

even children aren't let loose

The funny thing about Ben is the fact that though he was the one who switched on the show, he's terribly terrified watching it. Throughout the whole show, he was hugging his pillow very tightly, waiting for the moment when Kayako or Toshio showed up and he'll cover his face with the pillow, screaming his lungs out.. And no, I ain't kidding ya. I've never, and I say NEVER seen a guy scream watching a horror movie before. A shout is acceptable due to the surprise but a scream, a constant scream? Now that's just sad.

AHHHHHH!! LAWEEEEE!! AHHHHHHHHH!

See, I ain't pulling your leg. Thank goodness we weren't at the cinema. heh~ The even more funnier thing is that his girlfriend was calm and didn't even flinch at the sight of them ghost whereas Ben kept kicking his chair further and further from the screen. Can't blame him though. Having friends around to keep his scare-O-meter up in the critical zones didn't really help him. ahaks~ Thanks Ben, you the made show even more interesting for me.

yo kayako.. there's something on ur face..

I've been a closet fan of horror movies. Closet because I can't watch them with my friends less think of me anymore sadistically worse then they already do. For the record, I ain't a sadist!!

*koff*

Yea, so like horror shows. Ringu or The Ring, The House of Wax, Ju-On, The Saw, Shutters (some thai film but gooood) etc, etc. Among my favourite horror films are always those with the creepy long hair pale girl that didn't shampoo her hair for over 100 years. That's why I enjoyed playing the game F.E.A.R. too. But what I enjoy even more are spoofs. If ever a person is scared after watching horror movies, I've always encouraged them to watch the spoof version of it to kill of any fear. Of course, the most famous of all horror spoofs; Scary Movie. Though it's a little crude here and there (pfft~ americans) it serves well as an antidote. Fighting the ghost from The Ring as she comes out from the TV. Kayako falling down the stairs. Hahaha~ Good times.

Who wanna watch horror movies with me?

..

Please?

| my all time favourite movie

Mark and I share a rather similar taste in movies, both of us like Forest Gump a lot!! >.< I've watched the show many times too and I really like how a simple, low IQ guy like Forest can make it big in the bad world without even realizing the significance of his actions. He plays table-tennis like a pro and he even met Elvis!

humans are a disease, a cancer of this planet.
you are a plague, and i am the cure

As mentioned in Mark's blog, Forest (played by Agent Smith) calls the police about the Matrix break-in, invents cheap-cloning without realizing it, invents the bumper sticker slogan "It Is Inevitable" and inspires John Lennon to help POD write "Sleeping Awake", and makes millions on Norton AntiVirus after infecting the whole of the Matrix.

run forest!! run!!

Aging Hippie:
Hey, man, hey, listen. I was wondering if you might help me, huh?
Listen, I'm in the bumper sticker business and I've been trying to
think up a good slogan. And since you have been such a big inspiration
to the people around here, I thought you might be able to help me
jump into... Whoa! Man, you just ran through a big pile of dogshit!

Forrest:
It's inevitable.

Aging Hippie:
What, shit?

Forrest:
Sometimes.

i believe that as a species, human beings define their reality through misery and suffering

In fact, I liked the movie so much, I took the trouble to remember some quotes from Forest. You can find these quotes throughout the whole movie, so do take your time looking for it okay? Go grab yourself a copy of the show, sit back with your guy/gal, relax and watch the show. Good nite peeps~

Forest :
I hate this place, this zoo, this prison, this reality,
whatever you want to call it. I can't stand it anymore. It's the smell,
if there is such a thing. I can taste your stink, and every time I do,
I fear I've somehow been contaminated by it.

they are here...

Oooo..

So much for the big hype on the greatest war in the history of mankind. No, not Mankind the wrestler that you old-school guys adore so much (i bet yuppies wouldn't even know who Mankind is).

What? You haven't heard of the latest war? By golly! Everyone People are talking about it okay~

It's... *dramatic pause*

The War Of The Worlds

.
.
.
.

Such a disappoinment indeed. Just because it's a Stevie-directed movie with lots of so-so CGI, it doesn't make it a great show. For me, I would stick to the good ol Independance Day aka ID4 movie. The one with Will Smith as a fighter pilot. Now THAT is what I call a show. The storyline isn't too cheesy and the actors are great with their role, plus, the aliens lost in the hands of humans - not some amoeba or some germs. Though I have to give credit to Tommy for his acting. He really did a good job in potraying sacrifice for his daughter. If I were in his position, would I have done the same?

Though not thoroughly accurate, I have managed to sum up my views on War Of The Worlds:

constatine - the conn mann

and i think he's a dumb guy

What's up with this comics-to-movie hype that's going on?! First you have old-school movies like Batman and Superman, which by the way was a BIG hit back in my younger days. I dearly missed those shows mann. Instead, now we have a bunch of over-paid actors in shows like Spiderman, X-Men, Punisher, Daredevil, Hellboy, Elektrasux, and the upcoming Fantastic Four and of course, Constatine.

I wouldn't really complain if the show is good, but then sometimes after watching them, I feel that they've lost their originality. Okay~ So some of them are OK only larr, but I feel I criticize a lot because I'm quite a fan of the comic world (more towards Marvel though). Not really hardcore but I know enough to pick up LOADZ of plot-holes in the movies.

Take for example, Pete's first love wasn't Marry Jane, it was Gwen~!! Gwen!! Who can ever forget Gwen?! The girl who died in Spidey's arms. X-Men's Nightcrawler ain't a wuss and Storm was a goddess but in the movie, she looked more like a special child beaten up with the dumb stick. And the latest; Elektra is a merciless assassin who's torture skills are to be feared. Instead, she looked like some dumb Alias chick in the wrong costume. *sigh*

Whatever happen to "keepin' it true to da book"? But still, the best movie they could make is the very awesome Marvel vs DC comic. Yeap~ You heard me. Make a movie from that comic and you'll make tons! Who wouldn't wanna see our fav superheroes pit on each other to see who's the better superdude? Hehe~ The comic is quite rare, but I have 3 out of 4 issues. Uber cool~
